lambing time

it seems like all my friends are having babies.
heck even i had a baby.
and the cat, Stewart, had kittens. (on the day Jet was born nonetheless.)
"look mommy, Stewart laid little cats!" ~Ivy

i'm a minimalist when it comes to babies.
with my first i had a lot of stuff that i just didn't need.
luckily it was either gifted or handed down, so i didn't feel so bad when i got rid of it or let it sit in storage for years.

so here's my top 5 items (i need) for newborns:

5. binkie leashthis was my first binkie leash i made.

yes i give my babies binkies.
Archer disowned his around 3 months old
Ivy still has hers (only at night time)
Jet likes his when he wants to suckle but doesn't want any milk
binkie leashes keep that darn thing near by at all times.
yes this is a shameless plug. (ahem, prettylizzylu.etsy.com)

4. baby carrierperfect for lugging babies to waterfalls.

i have both a moby wrap and a ring sling, (that I made, but these are wonderful)
i love being able to wear my babies around when they're fussy or when the older kids just can't keep their hands to themselves.

3. swaddling blankets
the Aden and Anais blankets are great for swaddling and a perfect weight for summertime.

2.diapersdoesn't Jet look just like Archer? (this is Archer by the way!)

i love cloth diapers.
i've been cloth diapering my babies for 4+ years.
my favorites right now are Fuzzibunz one size, and prefolds with Thirsties duo wrap covers.
(along with diapers you'll need wipes, cloth wipes work best with cloth dipes)

1. breasts
nuff said. (and no you don't get a picture)
that's how i've fed all three of mine.
(even if you don't use them to feed babies with, they make perfect pillows for little baby heads.)

good birthing season everyone!

  1. You crack me up. I am with you on all but cloth diapers. I couldnt keep up with it, but I DO love the way they look and how nice they are for baby skin. Archer and Jet really are carbon copies. Amazon has GREAT deals on the Aden and Anais swaddle blankets often.
